Indyaki Restaurant at Radisson Blu: Food Review

Hello foodies! Hope you are doing great and eating something delicious.

I think it is been long since I posted anything related to FOOD, yeah? Anyways, but today’s post will be loaded with yummy cuisines I had at the Indyaki Restaurant launch event. This newly and spacious hotel recently opened the doors for all the food lovers at Radisson Blu, Paschim Vihar. The event started late but it was worth waiting that long.

We were first welcomed by the entire staff of Indyaki hotel, which was an elegant gesture. After we all were seated, the head Chef told us about the concept behind the name INDYAKI. It is a mixture of Japanese food with a touch of Indian spices and flavors. In short, they have combined Japanese and Indian food. Furthermore, we were served a Fresh Mocktail Welcome drink along with a Corn Chaat.

And followed by that yummy Chaat, I ate all these cuisines. Let me take you on the round one by one and tell you about the dishes.

Soup

UDON NOODLE SOUP WITH TOFU AND VEGETABLE: It is a star anise and cinnamon flavored broth with Tofu and Vegetable. It includes noddles and lot of veggies, which makes it a healthy soup. For the people who like Japanese flavors will love it. I did not like it that much but it is always nice trying new food recipes.

Salad

DUM KI URAD DAL: Steamed cooked, split and dehusked black gram with chef's special Indian spices. I completely loved the flavors. It represents India very well because the spices were settled amazingly and you feel at home. This was a good start with the dinner.

ROASTED APPLE, PINEAPPLE AND GUAVA SALAD: A warm salad made with roasted apple, pineapple and guava tossed in homemade sweet and sour dressing. I was waiting to taste some fruits but never thought it would be presented in such a masaledaar way. The sweetness accompanied by hot roasted fruits was a win win for me. I developed my taste after I had this salad.

Starters

PANEER KE SHIKANGE: Small chunks of cottage cheese marinated with Indian spices and grilled over Teppan. The plate was dressed beautifully, which included my favorite tomatoes and cucumber. I liked the saucy taste of these paneer shots. It has given the touch of Indian Paneer Tikka. The flavors are mouth watering and tastes really good.

CORIANDER SOYA GARLIC CHAAMP: Minced soya nuggets Teppan grilled, topped with coriander garlic sauce. Frankly speaking, I hate eating soya chunks but this dish changed my mind. The yummy sauce of this dish was the winner on its own. The soya chunks were cooked very well and gave me an Indian touch while I was eating this dish.

ANARI SHIMLA MIRCH: Tri bell peppers stuffed with fresh pomegranate, cheese and nuts roast over clay oven. I never thought it would be that delicious. The Shimla Mirch was packed with paneer stuffing, which was not less than yummilicious. Even the Shimla Mirch was baked very well and I ate it too. The presentation was also pleasing.

Main Course

KOFTA KHAAS INDYAKI: Pistachio stuffed cottage cheese dumplings in tomato sauce. I did not like the taste of this dish particularly. The spices, gravy and presentation were good but I could not connect with its Indian flavors. It was an OK dish to taste.

SHIITAKE AND BUTTON MUSHROOMS: Button Mushrooms with bell pepper and sun dried tomatoes. Assorted mushroom tossed with lemon butter soya sauce. I didn't tasted it but my friend did. She loved it. According to her, the spices were mixed in appropriate proportions and gave out its best taste.

INDYAKI GARLIC FRIED RICE: Teppan fried rice with Indyaki Special Sauce and mix with assorted vegetables. This was the first dish which I liked in the main course menu. The sauce was my favorite, in which the fried rice were mixed. It was yummy to taste and did not need any gravy to be a partner. This is a complete dish to have alone.

BREADS: There were many choices for breads. It included Roomali Roti, Garlic Naan, Tandoori Roti, and Pesto Naan. Mine favorite was Pesto Naan. All the breads were good in taste.

DAL INDYAKI: Black lentils simmered overnight with cream, tomatoes and spices. Another dish from the main course menu, which I was not satisfied with. The taste was not at all good and it was somewhere diverting my mind from the Indian flavors. Another OK OK dish from the food palette of Indyaki.

Desert

CHUKANDER AUR MEWE KA HALWA: Beetroot and dry fruit pudding, simmered with desi ghee. I hate chukander like forever but this halwa is beyond delicious. Very well cooked and garnished with dry fruits was just amazing to have. I like the flavor it has given to halwa. It nearly tasted like gajar ka halwa, believe me.

TEPPANYAKI ANANAS ICE CREAM: Pineapple tossed in butter flamed with brandy, topped with ice cream. Last but not the least was this yummy desert. In these Delhi winters, this is all what you need at the end of the dinner. I like the hot and tossed platter of pineapple at the bottom. It tasted yummy and the look was to die for. The vanilla ice cream was decorated with few layers of caramel, which was just like a cherry on the top.

Overall, it was a good experience tasting these cuisines at the event. The ambiance is beautifully designed and the staff well mannered. The service was slow but when you end up having so much fun, you can avoid that much. I am definitely going to take my family to this restaurant very soon. The prices are high but totally worth spending. I recommend you to go and have some quality time with your friends and family.
