Almonds


Soak 5-7 pieces of almonds overnight in water during summers as it produces a lot of heat from within. In winters, you can munch the almonds as is. Almonds are rich in way too many nutrients like fibre, magnesium, calcium, vitamin E, iron and riboflavin. It also helps lowering blood sugar levels and cholesterol. The best time to eat almonds is right after your workout session or yoga or just normal exercises or a brisk walk. Do not forget to accompany almonds with a glass of warm water.

It has been said 'n' number of times that eating apples is a healthy option. I eat two apples thrice a week in breakfast. It keeps my weight under control also filling to my stomach. Eating apples protects you against any chormic diseases and also your life span increases. These are enriched with antioxidants, which further flushes out all the impurities from your body.

Green Leafy Vegetables


When we talk about green leafy vegetables, it is always great to consume these raw. These vegetables can prevent cardiovascular risk factors if you eat green leafy vegetables for six weeks straight. It has great level of nutrients like vitamin A, B6, C, E and K. It also contains selenium, zinc, niacin, phosphorus, copper, potassium, calcium, manganese, betaine and iron.

Broccoli


If you are diabetic, then you must consume broccoli as it is high in fibre. It additionally contains calcium, potassium, folate and phytonutrients. Phytonutrients helps in fighting against heart diseases and lowers blood sugar levels and some type of cancers as well. It is high in Vitamin C, so try to consume this vegetable raw. If not raw, then avoid cooking it completely as it destroys all the goodness of this life saviour vegetable.

Oatmeal


This is a combination of high water soluble fiber and carbohydrates. If you do not wish to eat chappti, then replace your meals with oats. It helps in reducing high blood sugar levels along with cholesterol levels. Enriched with other nutrients like folate and potassium, oatmeal has been considered as the complete meal for one and all. The best thing about otameal is it takes just a matter of few minutes to be prepared.
