As we enter the 73rd year of celebrating Indian Republic Day in 2022, I want to share some of the highlights for the same day.
The very first Republic Day was celebrated in India on 26th January 1950. This was that auspicious occasion when India came into existence in this world. This particular date was chosen because on the same day, in the year 1930, it was revealed that India will get independence from colonial rule.
There is a thrill within each citizen of this country on this day. The nation welcomes the day with a parade and a tribute to the Indian armed forces. Due to the COVID situation, I guess the limitations to attending this parade would be limited but one can surely view the scenes from the comfort of their homes.
Personally, I thoroughly enjoy these parades as you get the feeling that you belong to this country. You feel how much this stature is important to you. The diverse country has it all. We speak so many languages. We celebrate so many festivals. We unite together when India gets in danger. The entire feeling is so patriotic and full of energy.
