Mars Baked Blush in Skin Bright Ruddy: Review, Swatch

By Samia Arshan

Hey Creatives,

How are you all? I just love writing and interacting with you guys through HCP. It gives me so much joy to share the reviews of new and exciting products I bought. Mars Baked Blush is one of them. This one was more of an impulse buy for me. Baked blushes are the current trend, by the way. They're more pigmented and less chalky than regular ones. Does this one meet up to my expectations? Let's see!

Price: Rs. 130/- for 8 grams

Shelf Life: 3 years

Availability: Buy online on Amazon

Product Description: This silky blush with benefits can be used so many ways. It shapes, it contours, it highlights. Sun baked on Italian terracotta tiles, it's build-able from sheer to vibrant. Yes, it adds a cheeky pop of color to your complexion. Radiance and warmth, too.

My experience with Mars Baked Blush in Skin Bright Ruddy:

Mars baked blush in Skin bright ruddy comes in an interesting packaging, the golden outer packaging makes the blush look very exquisite. The packaging is very travel friendly. The transparent cover shows the shade of the blush which is a rosy pink with specs of white in it. It looks very beautiful. Upon applying, you can see it is nothing like a blush. A blush has warm pink or red undertones depicting a flush on the face while this one merely has tons and tons of shimmer. It works well as a highlighter but as a blush? I'm not so sure. The color is a lovely rosy, light pink color. It is well pigmented and it is not chalky.

It is very smooth in texture and the application is very easy. The scent is floral and it is very pleasant. I usually apply it with a puffy blusher brush which works perfectly fine for this. The staying power is a decent 4-5 hours. I rarely use this for an outing, I mostly use it for weddings or events that require shimmer. Another fact that puts me back is that this wouldn't suit dusky skin tones.

Pros:

  • Well pigmented

  • Not chalky

  • Easy to apply

  • Travel friendly

  • Decent staying power

  • Pleasant scent

  • Low price

Cons:

  • Wouldn't suit dusky skin tones

Rating: 3.5/5

Well, I have neutral thoughts about it, I don't love it and I don't hate it. It's just that little bit that stays in my vanity. The blush (or should I say highlighter?) is well pigmented but too shimmery for my taste. It is, overall, a decent product to have in your vanity.
Would I repurchase it? Probably not.
