My take on the book ‘AND THE JHELUM FLOWS’: This book is written by Ramendra Kumar. I have not read any titles from this author before, so it was but natural that I was very much excited to read this book.

Riya is the reporter and she loves her work. She is inclined more towards making documentaries. He was supported by Aviansh, who was her cousin. They both went on a trip to Kashmir to shoot a documentary movie over there. They got to know about the entire history of the beautiful place, Kashmir. The book also talks about various groups, which were started by the people of Kashmir. The more discussion was on AMAN, a group.

The book showcases the journey of Kashmir in various aspects. In the book, there are many short stories, which are being narrated by the people with whose help is going to film everything. They share their sad stories, which is a plus point for those readers who doesn’t like reading history too much.

The author has researched very well with the nice usage of words. His work complemented his style well. Though I got bored in the middle of the book as I am not a person who loves reading stuff like this. I am more used to read love stories but then a reader should never stop experimenting.

Overall, it is a good read and I would recommend you to read this book once. If you love history and wants to know in depth story of Kashmir in a dramatic way, then this book will surely impress you. The best part of this book are the short stories, which author built up in between.
